Can We Ever Have Enough Storage?

Maximizing the storage we already have is a great step towards being able to store more “stuff”. Making storage accessible is the key to increasing its usefulness in our homes.
The most convenient storage to access in any cabinet are shelves, drawers or trays that roll out so we can easily get to things in the back of the cabinet and also see what we have stored away.

One of the most difficult spaces to deal with is under the sink- Kitchen or Bathroom.

In the bathroom and kitchen using storage under the sink is complicated by the plumbing there. One option is to custom built cabinetry to fit around the pipes and turn a dead space into useful storage.

Another option is to find ready made metal roll outs that will work.

Use two- one on each side of the pipes.

Garbage bins are often kept in this location. If they roll out they are much more useful. The big box stores have different types to choose from. The most convenient style is one with the bins attached to a panel that pulls them out instead of opening a door and then reaching in and pulling out the bin system.

Recycling and centres can also have a convenient home here with separated bins that easily lift out to empty. Rona is one of the few stores that offer a 3 bin unit. This is perfect for garbage, compost and recycling all in one location.

Maximizing Storage In Kitchen Corners

This one organizes smaller items on multiple trays that not only turn around but also pull out into the open space in front of the cabinet.  The baskets are heavy duty and the slides are really smooth. It is a really smart piece of hardware design.
